Chef Hollie Greene, Founder & CEO
Chef Hollie Greene, founder of JoyFoodly®, is a school wellness consultant and health supportive educator. Her passion is in leading training efforts with school food administrators, children, and families to prepare healthy, delicious, and affordable recipes focused on vegetables and fruits first.
Hollie has been a chef in schools with Wellness in the Schools, an Education Director for the Sylvia center, and a Professional Expert for the California Healthy Kids Initiative. She loves teaching cooking classes locally at Ramekins Culinary School in Sonoma and at Y.U.M (Young, Urban, Modern) Chefs in San Francisco. Through her Joyful 12 School Project, in partnership with Wellness in the Schools, she helps the Novato Unified School District connect their farm-to-school efforts with elementary classroom cooking education to help over 2,000 children learn how to consume the healthy foods being served in the cafeteria.
Chef Hollie’s online cooking program, the Joyful 12®, teaches families how to cook 48 seasonal produce items in a year with their children, which helps extend her school work beyond the classroom and into families’ homes. Hollie serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for 18 Reasons, a San Francisco based non-profit with a mission to empower the community with the confidence and creativity to buy, cook and eat good food every day.

Daily State of Mind: if it’s not fun, she’s not doing it!
Favorite Hobby: discovering new countries and their food cultures. It started at age 16 with a trip to China and Tibet, then living in France at age 19 and living and working in Brazil at age 27.
Food Philosophy: Food is a vehicle for learning, fun, and happiness. Sharing food with friends, fueling our bodies with foods that make us strong = this is for everyone regardless of your economic situation.
Goal in Life: to help kids and families create a positive relationship with food that helps them live long and joyful lives.
Love of her Life: her best in the world husband, their family, her best pal Ceppie Rose, a big-hearted Golden Retriever.
Why Hollie created JoyFoodly:
Chef Hollie founded JoyFoodly to inspire children and their families to cook and eat well to live a full and joyful life with great food memories. It all began on a cooking vacation in Tuscany where her heart was struck by a thunderbolt calling to follow this passion to teach children about healthy eating. She ditched her 10-year corporate career and never looked back.

Joyfoodly’s Director of Sales, Nate has been helping grow businesses from Fortune 500 companies to solopreneurs worldwide for the last decade. Recently his company, Small Biz Triage, has expanded into the food space helping forge strong alliances across that industry, while maintaining his company’s “unapologetically human” approach.
Leading JoyFoodly’s Tech strategy and implementation for the Joyful 12, Sameer is a trusted advisor who has a big heart for improving children’s lives through healthy food education. Sameer Siruguri is Founder and President of Digital Strategies, a digital agency providing strategic technical advice, digital marketing and web design services for nonprofits and small businesses.
Elena may have just graduated from high school, but she’s well on her way to changing the world one Camp Cauliflower kid at a time. As our blogging and social media intern, Elena shares her passion for eating a plant based diet through recipes and posts on the Joyful blog. This summer, she will be running the second year of Camp Cauliflower, a nutritionally focused summer cooking program, dedicated to offering Novato, California kids a free week-long cooking camp. Elena believes that every child should have an opportunity to chop, mince, and sauté in a commercial kitchen!

Director, Food and Nutritional Services
Novato Unified School District
Miguel’s experience spans more than 30 years in public schools as Food Service Director in Texas and California. He has developed and implemented innovative strategies for improving children’s health and “Created Total School Nutrition and Wellness Environments”. He joined the Novato Unified School District in 2002 and begin to modified schools menus offering nutritious “Real” food and phasing out “junk” food.
He also serves as the District Wellness Coordinator and collaborates with numerous groups consisting of students, parents, teachers, school administrators and local\regional health allied organizations. Miguel also works with Marin Organic to promote Farm to School programs and introducing families to gleaning.
Miguel Villarreal holds a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from the University of North Texas and Masters in Business Administration from East Texas State University. Miguel is an active member of several National, State, and local organizations focused on educating and improving student’s well being.
